Equine Slaughter Houses in the UK – know the Facts

If you are on Facebook please join this group: Equine Slaughter Houses in the UK – know the Facts

“The current economic climate V.S the over breeding of equines = horses are being turned away on the streets and left to starve. Just look at Ireland.

Equines all over the UK are being neglected with their medical needs ignored, because people can no longer afford to keep them.

Horses and ponies are being dragged from sale ring to sale ring, to bottom end dealer and back again with no end in sight

… and now people want to take away the only chance of a swift and humane end to their suffering? Are you kidding?

By campaigning to ban the two remaining abattoirs in the UK from destroying equines, you are encouraging the live transportation of these poor animals for HOURS at a time to foreign countries… whose abattoirs don’t benefit from the same standards of welfare as our own.

So please, before you provide me with answers such as “get more rescue centres” to the breeding problem the equine world currently faces, take the time to read through the information made available to you on here, and ask as many relevant questions as you can. We all want to help horses, but banning the well regulated UK abattoirs is not the way to do it…

Their mission is: To educate people in the importance of well regulated UK abattoirs.”
